Update! I’m An Ass! (was: Bad Reporting or I’m Just Saying)

Updated in the afternoon when Steve over at Beachwood added a comment at the bottom pointing out — very politely — the quote. My bad. I could update this to people who are writing posts like this early in the AM criticizing others are … er… asses. Mea culpa.

I would have posted this on a comment over at the Beachwood Reporter but didn’t see a comments link.

They say:

(In fact, Paul Krugman in the New York Times says that Obama is the least progressive – would make the least change – of the three leading Democratic contenders. So the question is really whether voters want a change in style or a change in substance, although many Obama supporters, to make a generalization, don’t seem to know what his positions are to begin with.

If you look at the article, it doesn’t say either of those things. I don’t want to be seen as an Obama apologist, and I haven’t done any independent research to verify or refute the NYT article Opinion piece, but if you’re going to credit someone as “saying” something don’t you think it’s important that they actually, er…., say it?

I’m just saying. (Besides, they’ll let anyone say anything in the NYT.)

If you need to sneeze, look at a light bulb.

So I heard something about the photic sneeze effect the other day and I says to J I says: Hey!  I think I figured dis out, why I sneeze so much when I first gets up.  And she says Oh yeah?  And so I says, Yeah, turns out its cause of the bright light.

And so then she says “Duh! Haven’t you ever heard the saying, ‘If you need to sneeze, look at a light bulb’?”

No I haven’t never heard of no such ting and I tells her just dat.

And so then she says “Oh. I thought everyone knew that.”

And so I googles it like everyone should and it turns out that everyone did know that.  This is just another thing for me to hold against the Idaho public schools.
