Move Faster, Get More Done

Two thoughts.

Talk less, POC more. In other words, when you have an idea on something, spend less time talking about it, spend more time doing it — or at least put together a proof of concept (POC) on it.  Communication can take forever and is remarkably imprecise.  If you have an idea that you want to execute on, the fastest, easiest way to get others engaged is to put together a POC.  Then talk about it.  Everything will be clearer to all participants.

Be confident, worry less. I have at least as rich of an interior monologue as anyone out there.  I tell myself to shut up all the time.  Actually, what I tell myself is not “shut up” but “chances are, everything will be fine.”  It’s remarkably calming in my case.  And when I stop worrying, when I think that everything will probably be fine, it frees up a lot of time.  At which point I can go back to doing the first thing – “Talk less, POC more.”

Happy Friday.
